Teaching Artist: Basia Andrusko
Pysanky are written by drawing with melted wax on a real eggshell, and then dipping the egg in a dye bath. This process of applying wax and a dye bath is repeated for each desired color. Once the design is completed, the wax is melted off, revealing the colorful pattern. You will be guided through the wax-resist batik process of this ancient art form. A $10 Material Fee, not included in the AOY fee, will be collected by the instructor at the start of the workshop.
