#57 Exploring Sculpture Workshop!
Teaching Artist - Elizabeth Taraba
Week 5, 1 - 4 pm
Ages 12 - 16
$230*

Our exciting Sculpture workshop will include both relief sculptures and sculpture in the round! One of them will even MOVE!

Come learn to carve into the surface of both plaster and wood to create a relief sculpture design, with floral, animal, medieval or Garlic knots images. Our plaster designs will be painted in color when dry, our wood sculptures will be stained and varnished. We will create a small figure/ garden sculpture using wire armature and a myriad of colored acrylic clays that are hardened in an oven. We will then use wire armature to create a " movable skeleton" for a human or animal marionette that we will cover with Paris craft strips to build up the design making a moving puppet or mobile that will also be painted when finished. If you've taken the sculpture camp before, you'll learn NEW methods and ideas this summer with fun new projects to explore! All material fees are included.

*plus $4 processing fee

"You learn a lot about a community by how much it embraces, elevates and provides access to the arts. AOY Art Center, a nonprofit artistic hub on Mirror Lake Road, provides countless opportunities for residents to embrace their artistic side as a vehicle for growth, creativity, and profound joy. Through adult classes, youth programs, and public events, AOY Art Center uses the arts to not only inspire community members but also connect them to one another."
