Learn to paint plein air cityscapes the Impressionist way in the center of historic Newtown, Bucks County. We will start with a short walking tour to select an appropriate motif and go through all stages of painting discussing composition, light, color, texture and other aspects of picture-making. Color mixing and painting techniques for oils will be demonstrated, but any drawing/painting medium can be used. Artists of all levels are welcome. Participants should expect to be busy for half a day on two consecutive days. Rain dates May 3, May 4.

Here is a link for details regarding AOY Terms & Conditions. Online payment at time of registration is preferred. Please note, if you choose to use the "payment by check" option, that payment option expires two weeks prior to the start of the workshop. Checks must be received two weeks prior to the start date for completion of registration in order to be added to the class roster. Registrations will be cancelled if payments are not received prior to these deadlines.

"You learn a lot about a community by how much it embraces, elevates and provides access to the arts. AOY Art Center, a nonprofit artistic hub on Mirror Lake Road, provides countless opportunities for residents to embrace their artistic side as a vehicle for growth, creativity, and profound joy. Through adult classes, youth programs, and public events, AOY Art Center uses the arts to not only inspire community members but also connect them to one another."
